Breaking News: A new party for Alan Keyes

Grassroots efforts are underway to make sure that Alan Keyes's name is on the ballot in November. A new party is being built and the website is already up but still under construction. Keyes supporters are anxious to gather signatures in every state and to meet any requirements needed. Alan Keyes and his campaign manager, Tom Hoefling, have a conference call twice a week answering questions and keeping supporters informed of what is going on. And the www.alankeyes.com website has just begun Live-Streaming during the first part of the Tuesday and Thursday conference calls. Supporter and discussion board member, savvyconsumer, gave a very informative summary of the conference telling about the new party: Conference Call notes for 05/06/2008 are as follows:

The new party is posted and people began registering at the website just after the url was announced last night.

Contact information for all 50 State Directors will be posted next. (Anyone interested in a state directorship, on an interim basis, should contact Tom, as soon as possible.)

There will be a National Convention soon, which will be an electronic convention. If you have suggestions for the platform, contact Tom.

Tom said:
*Alan is not building the new party, we are.
*Alan is not running for president, we are running him for president.
*Alan is running as an Independent Candidate.
*He is the 1st candidate our new party will endorse.

Principles will be the key word in selecting candidates. The new party will seek to endorse candidates who share our common principles, regardless of their party of affiliation.

This effort is a work in progress. In some states, the new state party will be built first, (i.e., Florida.) In other states, the new state party will be built after the work to get Alan on the ballot, as an Independent Candidate. It is all dependent upon individual state requirements.

Tom encouraged everyone to read Washington's Farewell Address regarding the dangers of party factionalism, and compare Washington's words to the reality of modern parties, today.

There is much to look forward to, and much to do.
